Canadian stage veteran BARRY MORSE (1918-2008) became well known to American TV audiences when he played Lieutenant Gerard, relentless pursuer of The Fugitive (1963-1967). Among his other prominent TV roles were Space: 1999 (1975-1977) and the miniseries Sadat (as Israeli Prime Minister Begin,1980). Morse wrote several books about life in the theatre. PEGGY O'DARE (1898- 1959) appeared in silent films of the late 1910's and 1920's, appearing in films such as For Life (1919), Blind Chance (1920), and Riders of Mystery (1925). She is often confused and credited alongside fellow actress Peggy O'Day. Character actor CAMPBELL SINGER (1909-1976) performed primarily in comedies, with films like The Square Peg (1958), The Titfield Thunderbolt (1953), and The Fast Lady (1962) amongst his 111 credits. After the 1960's, he switched to performing mostly in television, with his last role being in 1975 on Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. Actress MARJORIE SOMMERVILLE appeared in bit television roles from the 1960's to the 1990's, sometimes being credited incorrectly as Marjorie Summerville. Series she has appeared in include Emergency-Ward 10 (1962), Dial M for Murder (1974), and If Tomorrow Comes (1986). While actress SYDNEY STURGESS (1915-1999) appeared in a small number of television and film credits, she is best known for her stage work. She first received dramatic training in England, graduating from the London College of Music and appearing in several repertory companies. It was after she began acting on stage that she met future husband Barry Morse, marrying the actor in 1939. She went on to appear in a large number of West End productions before emigrating with Morse and their two children to Canada, where she appeared in classical productions like Romeo and Juliet and Pygmalion. In the late 50's, Sturgess wrote and produced her own radio show for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and became heavily involved with the theatrical Shaw Festival and Stratford Festival of Canada. She remained active in theatre and acting until her death in 1999. Toned. Lightly soiled. Corners lightly worn and creased. Edges lightly worn and creased. Ink notes (unknown hand).
