BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES MOVIE CAST Color publicity photograph showing a group of eight apes, signed in black felt tip. Photograph signed: "Jerry Maren" and "Felix Silla", B/w 10x8. Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973) is the fifth and last film in the Planet of the Apes series produced by Arthur P. Jacobs. It was directed by J. Lee Thompson and distributed by 20th Century Fox. After his film debut as leader of the Lollipop Guild in The Wizard of Oz (1939), Maren (1920-2018) appeared that same year in two other movies calling for midgets: Our Gang's Tiny Troubles and the Marx Brothers' At the Circus. He played Buster Brown in ads for the shoe company of the same name and threw confetti at the end of TV's Gong Show (1976-1978). He also appeared in an un credited role as a Mole Man in the 1951 Superman movie Superman and the Mole-Men and worked as a Little Oscar for Oscar Mayer & Co. in the 1950's. A quarter century after his first films, he starred in Little Cigars (1973). Stuntman turned actor Felix Silla, born in Italy in 1937, began his career as a circus performer before debuting as a stuntman in A Ticklish Affair (1963). The 3-foot, 11-inch Silla, who frequently doubled for children, performed stunts in a number of films, including Earthquake and The Towering Inferno (both 1974), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and Batman Returns (1992), and he has appeared in several feature films, including Planet of the Apes (1968), Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973), The Black Bird (1975), Kentucky Fried Movie (1977), Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983), Spaceballs (1987) and Batman Returns. Silla is best known, however, for his role as Cousin Itt on the TV series, The Addams Family (1964-1966). Although the character was not a part of the original Charles Addams cartoons, upon which the series was based, Cousin Itt was so popular that he was featured in the animated version of series as well as the 1977 made-for-TV movie, Halloween with the New Addams Family, in which Silla reprised the role. He also had a recurring role as Twiki in the TV series, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979-1981). Silla and his group, The Original Harmonica Band, also perform at nightclubs in Reno and Las Vegas. Fine condition.
