Beatrice Arthur signs a contract to appear on Perry Como's Kraft
Music Hall on February 1, 1961.

as Performer, 9p, 8½x11, front and verso. New York, New York,
1961 January 20. "Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract For Single
Television Broadcast and For Multiple Television Broadcasts Within One Calendar
Week" in which Roncom Productions, Inc. contracts for Arthur's appearance on
the show, Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall. Arthur was to be paid $650
for one show, to be taped at NBC-TV New York on January 27, 1961. Beatrice "Bea"
Arthur (1922-2009) began doing TV comedy in 1954 (The George Gobel
Show, Caesar's Hour). After a hit guest starring appearance on
All on the Family in 1971, Arthur got a sitcom of her own,
Maude (1972-1978), for which she won an Emmy Award and was
nominated for four Golden Globes. Later the co-star of The Golden
Girls (1985-1992), Arthur had made her TV debut on Kraft Television
Theatre in 1951. She has also appeared on Broadway, winning a Tony
Award for her performance as Vera Charles in Mame (a role she
reprised in the 1975 film, for which she received a Golden Globe
nomination) and stealing the show as the matchmaker in Fiddler on the
Roof. Lightly creased. Staple holes and staple at upper left blank corner.
