Small album leaf signed by Tony-nominated comedienne Beatrice Gladys

Signature: "Beatrice Lillie" in pencil. Blue ink notations on
verso in unknown hand. 4¼x2¼ album leaf, rounded right corners. Canadian-born
comic Lillie (1894-1989) moved to England in 1914, where she became a
music hall favorite. She had a radio program after World War II. Lillie's
Broadway debut was in This Year of Grace (1927), written for her
by her friend Noel Coward. The last of her occasional film appearances was
in Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967). She married Sir Robert Peel
(1898-1934) in 1920. Lillie was nominated for two Tony Awards for her
performances in Ziegfeld Follies of 1957 (1957) and High
Spirits (1964-1965).Lightly toned, bowed and rippled. Show-through
from mounting residue and notations on verso touch signature. Binder holes at
left edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
