Typed Letter Signed: “Beatrice Notice” in blue ink. 7¼x10½. Dated February 7, 1961. Features letterhead from the Major's office in New York City, New York. One page. Sent to Edward G. Olsen. In Full: “Please accept our sincere apologies for not having responded to your request for an autograph by Major Alexander P. de Seversky before this time. Due to a change of staff we have just gone through our old files, and there we discovered your un-answered letter. Find enclosed the autographed card for your collection of Living Quotations.” Major Alexander P. de Seversky (1894-1974) was an inventor and aviator who developed hundreds of patents for United States military aircraft. After serving in WWI, he immigrated to the United States and became an expert in all aspects of air warfare, including technology and strategy. Signer merits further research. Mailing creases.
