BETH FOWLER (b. 1940) starred as Mrs. Potts. Best known for her role as Mrs. Lovett in the revival of Sweeney Todd (1989), Beth Fowler (1940) is a Tony Award nominated actress and singer. She would play more minor roles until her big break with Sweeney Todd, a role that earned her first Tony nomination and a Drama Desk Award nomination. She would later originate the role of Mrs. Potts on the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast (1994). After she performed her last Broadway play in 2007, Fowler made the switch to film and screen, but did not get a major role until her recurring character Sister Ingalls in the series Orange Is The New Black (2013).
