Autograph Letter signed: "Bela Siki", 1 page, 5¾x7¾. No
place, 1973 May 3. Written to "Dear Mr. Luxton", in full:
"Excuse the long delay in answering your letter that has been forwarded to me
in the U.S. I don't have a photograph easi-ly available here, thus I send this
letter instead of, hoping that it will satisfy you. Yours sincerely"
Hungarian pianist Bela Siki (b. 1923) began his career as a
student at Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. There he learned from
accomplished musicians like Leo Weiner and Ernest von Dahnanyi. He had a
successful solo career and toured across five continents before moving to
the United States in 1965. While in the U.S., he taught at the University of
Washington and University of Cincinnati, retiring in 2001. Normal mailing
