BELLA ABZUG. Photograph signed: "Bella Abzug". B/w, 8x10. Bella Abzug was the first person elected to Congress on a platform of women's rights and peace and was the first Jewish Congresswoman. The New Yorker's blunt speeches and wide-brimmed hats became the trademarks of "Battling Bella", who co-founded the National Women's Political Caucus and co-authored the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts. Lightly creased and rippled. Ink note (unknown hand) and photographer's stamp on verso, light impression from writing on verso lightly shows through to upper right background. Fine condition.
