BEN KRONEN
The actor penned his signature on this computer printout letter to Susan Lane at the American Museum of Historical Documents in Las Vegas, explaining that he missed her calls because of his answering machine
Typed letter signed: "Ben Kronen". 1 page, 8¼x10¾, dot-matrix printout with perforated edges. Studio City, California. Addressed to Mr. Todd M. Axelrod, Executive Director, The American Museum of Historical Documents, Las Vegas, Nevada. In full: "Dear Mr. Axelrod: First, let me apologize profusely for not having responded to your letter of July 20 of this year. I hope that you'll believe me when I tell you that it was sheer oversight and that your letter was misplaced on my desk.  (If you could see my desk, Mr. Axelrod, I'm sure you would easily understand how a thing like that could happen.) I will be most happy to participate in your exhibit and would like to offer the following: The complete copy of my script [not included] which I used in my three weeks on location in Las Vegas last December while shooting 'MUGSY'S GIRLS'. Three signed photos of myself [not included] (perhaps one or two from the picture if I have them) as requested. Any other documentation that I can find concerning that picture. I mention that because since it was shot in Las Vegas that would increase it's [sic] interest to you. If you'd like me to take care of the above, Mr. Axelrod, please let me hear from you and I'll do it as quickly as I can. The best of luck to you! Sincerely, Ben Kronen k". Lightly toned and creased. Folded twice and unfolded. Ink from printed-out letter (not signature) has bled slightly. Otherwise in fine condition. Accompanied by: Original mailing envelope with imprinted return address: "Ben Kronen/Advertising Consultant/Coordinator". Addressed to Mr. Todd M. Axelrod, Executive Director, The American Museum of Historical Documents, Las Vegas, Nevada. Postmarked Van Nuys, California, Dec. 3, 1984. With one 20¢ American flag stamp affixed. Ben Kronen is a stage, television, and film actor. He has almost 50 television and film acting credits to his name since 1981, mostly in bit parts, as well as extensive experience in TV commercials. Credits include Garfield (2004), Tower of Terror (1997), and two episodes of Doogie Howser, M.D. (1989-1993). His resume stretches back to 1940, when he broke into show biz on New York radio. He headed the Armed Forced radio station in New Guinea during World War II and, after coming home, directed for radio and stage before making the leap to Hollywood in 1957. Lightly toned. Envelope has been neatly torn open. Otherwise in fine condition.
