OF ISSUE. Ben Templeton drew comic strips written by his partner, Tom
Forman. Although they authored several strips, including The Sporting
Life, their best known comic was Motley's Crew, a social satire begun
in 1976 and ultimately featured in over 250 US newspapers. The strips were
always signed by Templeton as "Templeton and Forman". When Forman died in
1996, Templeton continued Motley's Crew on his own, retiring after the final
strip on January 1, 2000. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine
condition.
