Baker", 4½x3 card. Magazine photograph, b/w, 1x1, affixed at upper left
corner. Stage, screen and television actor Benny Baker (1907-1994) began his
show business career in Broadway musical comedies before debuting in
films in 1934. After appearing in several Paramount musicals, he returned
to Broadway, but returned to Hollywood as a character actor. His film
credits include The Farmer's Daughter (1940), two Joe Palooka
films (1947, 1949), Thunderbirds (1952), No Time for Sergeants
(1958), Papa's Delicate Condition (1963), Boy, Did I Get a Wrong
Number ! (1966), Paint Your Wagon (1969), The Sting II (1983)
and 18 Again! (1988, his last film). Baker also made a number of TV
movies and appeared as a guest star on a long list of TV shows, from the
early anthologies (beginning with Kraft Television Theatre in
1952) to comedies, Westerns and dramas. Ink lightly haloed. Otherwise, fine
condition.
