photograph for the 1957-1958 BBC TV series, The Army Game, in which
Bresslaw starred as Private "Popeye" Popplewell. Verso is signed:
"Dorothy Bromiley". Magazine photograph, b/w, 1¼x1½, affixed at lower
right corner. British comic actor BERNARD BRESSLAW (1934-1993) is perhaps
best known for his 14 Carry On films, which were released from
1965 (beginning with Carry On Cowboy) through 1975. Bresslaw, who also
acted in several other feature films, including Men of Sherwood Forest
(1954, his first film), Jabberwocky (1977), Krull (1983) and
Leon the Pig Farmer (1992), also appeared on television, including the
series, Our House (1961-1962), and on the stage. British actress
DOROTHY BROMILEY (born in 1930) appeared in several feature films after
making her debut in 1953 in The Girls of Pleasure Island. She also
appeared in episodes of the TV series, The Adventures of Robin
Hood (1957). Album leaf is lightly creased and soiled. Irregular lower
edge from removal from bound book. Overall, fine condition.
