in the sweet spot. With PSA/DNA sticker and Certificate of Authenticity
(#P05609). Born in the Netherlands in 1951 but raised in southern California,
Bert Blyleven won 287 games in his Major League career (1970-1992), even
though he played for many losing clubs. The American League Rookie of the
Year in 1970, Blyleven threw a vicious curve ball. He twice led the league
in home runs allowed, but a high percentage of those were solo shots. He
challenged hitters, refusing to put many runners on with walks. Twice an
All-Star (1973, 1985), Blyleven pitched a no-hitter for the Rangers in 1977. He
helped the 1979 Pirates and the 1987 Twins to World Championships.
Blyleven's long overdue enshrinement in the Hall of Fame came on July 24,
