Former pro baseball player/singer/actor and game show host Bert Convy (1933-1991) is best known for hosting some of four of daytime TV's popular game shows: Tattletales (1974-1978, for which he won an Emmy Award), Super Password (1984-1989), Win, Lose or Draw (1987-1989) and The Third Degree (1989-1990). Convy, who had made his Broadway debut in 1959 in Billy Barnes Revue, went on to appear on the Great White Way several times, originating the roles of Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof (1964-1972) and Clifford Bradshaw in Cabaret (1966-1969). He made his film debut in 1958 (A Gunman's Walk), the same year he first appeared on television as a guest star in 77 Sunset Strip. Although Convy would appear in a number of feature films, including The Love Bug (1968), Semi-Tough (1977), The Cannonball Run (1981) and In the Mood (1987, his last film), he was best known for his TV work, which included a long list of made-for-TV movies and guest-starring roles, including several appearances on Love, American Style, Fantasy Island and The Love Boat. Convy was also a regular on The Snoop Sisters (Lieutenant Steve Ostrowski, 1973-1974) and hosted The Late Summer Early Fall Bert Convy Show (1976) and People Do the Craziest Things (1984-1985).
