The professional ice hockey player pens his name on this Parkhurst trading card
Trading/Sports Card signed: "Bert Olmstead" in blue ink, color, 2½x3½. Parkhurst trading
card containing stats from the 1955-1956 season, the year Olmstead set the league record
for assists, no. 71. Player profile also included at upper right-hand corner of verso. Bert
Olmstead (1926-2015) was a professional hockey player. During the course of his ice
hockey career, which began in 1949, he played for the Montreal Canadiens, the Chicago
Black Hawks, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Impressively, he hoisted the Stanley Cup for
5 of the 14 seasons that he spent in the NHL. In one of his best seasons (1954-1955), he led
the league in assists with 48. Olmstead then proceeded to set the league record for assists with
56 during the season that followed. In addition to playing, Olmstead coached the Oakland
Seals during the 1967-1968 season. In 1985, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of
Fame. Gently bowed. Otherwise, fine condition.
