BEST FRIEND PLAY CAST
Barbara Baxley, Liz Sheridan, Michael Ryan, and Mary Doyle sign on a Playbill for a production of Best Friend
Show bill signed: "Michael M. Ryan", "Barbara Baxley", "Mary Doyle", "Liz Sheridan", in black felt tip, 60 pages, 5¾x9. BARBARA BAXLEY (1923-1990) appeared on television from the early 1950s through the mid-1980s, cast in six episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and both the original (1959) and later (1986) versions of The Twilight Zone. She also appeared in feature films, including the role of Sally Fields' mother in Norma Rae (1979). Her first love was the theater, however. She made her Broadway debut in Noel Coward's Private Lives (1948), and was nominated for a Tony in the Tennessee Williams comedy Period of Adjustment (1961). Among her many other visits to the Great White Way were Chekhov's Three Sisters, Neil Simon's Plaza Suite and the 1963 musical She Loves Me. LIZ SHERIDAN, born in 1929 in Westchester County, New York, is an American actress with almost 70 TV shows and movies to her credit, but is probably most well known as nosy neighbor Mrs. Rauel Ochmonek on Alf and as Helen Seinfeld, Jerry Seinfeld's mother, on Seinfeld. The daughter of a concert singer and classical pianist, Sheridan got her start as a dancer in 1950 working in New York nightclubs and musicals before meeting a then-unknown James Dean. She claims that they were briefly engaged, a subject that she explores in her book Dizzy and Jimmy. Also signed by MICHAEL RYAN (b. 1929) as John McGovern and MARY DOYLE (1931-1995) as Anita Fitzgerald. Corners and edges lightly worn. Lightly toned. Tear on top edge of cover. Otherwise, fine condition.
