BEVERLY TYLER - AUTOGRAPH NOTE SIGNED CIRCA 1951 - HFSID 21954
Price: $280.00
BEVERLY TYLER
Inscribed signature on an album leaf, acquired in 1951
Inscribed Signature: "To Bev,/Sincerely/Beverly Tyler", 5½x4½
album leaf. B/w magazine photo (1¾x2) affixed in lower right. Ink note (unknown
hand) at lower edge: "Mark Hopkins Lobby, Nov. 1, 1951." Beverly Tyler
(1927-2005) was a radio singer before becoming an MGM contract player. Her
film roles, most casting her as a second lead, included Best Foot Forward
(1943, her only singing role), The Green Years (1946), The
Fireball (1950), The Cimarron Kid (1952) and Hong Kong
Confidential (1958). Critics seem to agree that she had more talent than
the movie studios gave her the chance to demonstrate. After her 1962 marriage to
comedy writer Jim Jordan, Jr., her only appearances were in local stage
productions. Left edge uneven from previous binding. Lightly toned at edges.
Otherwise, fine condition.
