Photograph signed: "Elizabeth Montgomery", "Dick Sargent". Color, 9¼x7¼ image, matted to 15½x13½. ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY (1933-1995) is best known for her role as Samantha Stephens on the hit TV sitcom, Bewitched (1964-1972). Although she was nominated for an Emmy Award five times for the series (and four additional times for other work), Montgomery never won an Emmy. Ironically, William Asher, her husband from 1963-1973, won the 1966 Emmy for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy for Bewitched. Montgomery, who made her TV debut in 1953 on Armstrong Circle Theatre, went on to appear in a number of early TV anthologies as well as making guest appearances on TV series ranging from Westerns to dramas. She also starred in a long list of made-for-TV movies as well as a handful of feature films, including The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell (1955, her debut), Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed? (1963) and How To Stuff a Wild Bikini (1965). Screen and television actor DICK SARGENT (1930-1994), born Richard Cox, is best known for his role as the "second Darrin Stephens" in the TV series, Bewitched. Sargent, who had been the first choice for the role, had to bow out due to a contract commitment with Universal, but he took over for an ailing Dick York in 1969, appearing as Darrin until the series' end in 1972. Sargent, who had made his film debut in 1956, appeared in a number of films, including Operation Petticoat (1959), The Great Imposter (1961), That Touch of Mink (1962), Captain Newman, M.D. (1963) and The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966). In addition to Bewitched, Sargent also starred in several other series, mini-series (including Rich Man, Poor Man in 1976) and made-for-TV movies in addition to making guest appearances on a long list of TV shows, from Medic (1956) to Harry and the Hendersons (1992). "Elizabeth Montgomery" signature light but legible. Fine condition.
