Inscribed photo signed "To my dear friend Bermo/very sincerely/Bidu Sayao/1950". B/w, 7x9¼. Stamp in black ink on verso: "Kindly give credit to/James Abresch/200 West 57th St., N. Y. C.". Sayão (1902-1999) was a Brazilian coloratura soprano. She embarked on a singing career over the strong objections of her Brazilian family and debuted with the Met (as Manon) in 1937. Sayão was called "the glamor girl of the America's." Lightly toned. Edges and corners are lightly chipped and rounded. Otherwise in fine condition.
