Inscribed photo signed "To Eddie Sousa/sincerely/Bidu Sayao/" in blue ink. B/w, 3¾x5¾. Sayão (1902-1999, born in Rio de Janiero, Brazil) was a Brazilian coloratura soprano. She embarked on a singing career over the strong objections of her Brazilian family and debuted with the Met (as Manon) in 1937. Sayão was called "the glamor girl of the America's." Lightly toned, soiled and creased. Impressions on photo (not visible head on). Corners are scuffed and rounded. Pen skipped while writing signature. Otherwise in fine condition.
