Bil Canfield (born William Newton Canfield in Orange, New Jersey on October
8, 1920) is an American editorial cartoonist and illustrator. As a young man
serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he drew cartoons for the USS
Massachusetts' ship newspaper, The Bay Stater. He later worked as a
sports cartoonist for the Newark News, editorial cartoonist for the
Newark Star Ledger and cartoonist for the Toms River Observer
in Ocean County, New Jersey. He was inducted into the New Jersey Literary
Hall of Fame in 1988. Fine condition.
