Typed Letter signed twice: "Bill" (at end of text and postscript) as U.S. Senator, 1p, 6¼x8½. Washington, D.C., 1987 July 8. On his personal U.S. Senate letterhead to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Washington, D.C. In full: "I had a delightful evening last night. Having a chance to spend leisure time with you and also visit with James Wilson was a special pleasure. I enjoyed the dinner, the stimulating conversation, and, most of all, your gracious hospitality. Many thanks." Bradley has handwritten a postscript: "Liz & Pat - Thanks again. It was too brief but good, particularly Wilson. WILLIAM WARREN BRADLEY (b. 1943), a Princeton graduate and Rhodes Scholar, captained the gold-medal U.S. basketball team at the 1964 Olympics. As a pro basketball player with the New York Knicks (1967-1977), Bradley earned the nickname "Dollar Bill" for his clutch shooting. A 3-term U.S. Senator from New Jersey (1979-1997), Bradley sought the Democratic nomination for President in 2000. DIRECTLY FROM THE SALE OF THE ESTATE OF DANIEL PATRICK MOYNIHAN (1927-2003). Moynihan served four terms in the U.S. Senate (1977-2001) as a Democrat representing New York. A prolific author, Moynihan held positions in the administrations of four Presidents: Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford. The Wilson mentioned here as dining with Bradley and Moynihan was probably JAMES Q. WILSON, former President of the American Political Science Association, who had chaired Presidential task forces on crime (1966) and drug abuse prevention (1972-1973). When this letter was written, he was Chairman of President Reagan's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (1985-1990).
