I want to thank you and the students from the Woodland Hills School District for including me in your collection of important people of the 20th Century." Composer Bill Conti was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Song for "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981 and for "Gonna Fly Now" (from Rocky) in 1976. He won the 1983 Oscar for Best Score for The Right Stuff. In the year of this letter alone, the prolific Conti has written the musical scores for three feature films, F/X, Nomads and The Boss' Wife, a TV miniseries, North and South, Book II, a made-for-TV movie, Stark: Mirror Image, and the documentary, 50 Years of Action!. He also wrote songs and the musical score for The Karate Kid Part II. Conti's television compositions include the themes of Dallas, Falcon Crest and Dynasty. Slightly creased at letterhead. Fine condition.
