Sports Card Signed: "Bill/Kilmer/#17", 2½x3½ card. Signed in black marker. Includes passing
statistics and a profile on verso. Bill Kilmer (b. 1939) was an NFL quarterback (1961-1978)
for the San Francisco 49ers, the New Orleans Saints and - most notably - the Washington
Redskins. Taking over for an injured Sonny Jurgensen with the Redskins, he ran off a
5-game winning streak, and led the team to the Super Bowl the following year. Kilmer
made the unique transition from running back (1961-1966) to quarterback, rushing for 10
touchdowns in his rookie season. Noted for his late-night high-jinx, included a jailing for
drunkenness and disorderly conduct two days before a playoff victory, Kilmer was a two-time
Pro-Bowler who totaled for over 20,000 passing yards and 174 touchdowns (passing,
rushing, and receiving) in his career. Fine condition.
