Magazine Photograph Signed: "Bill Phillips". B/w, 8¼x11, and on verso: "Sincerely,/The Coquettes/Joan", "Karen", "Carole" and "Sandi". Singer/guitarist BILL PHILLIPS' (1936-2010) worked with Johnnie Wright and Kitty Wells before releasing his album Put It Off Until Tomorrow , which reached #6 on the country charts in 1966. It also featured a young Dolly Parton. JOAN BON (often credited as JOANN BON) and THE COQUETTES had a minor hit in 1967, "I'll Release You," an answer to Engelbert Humperdinck's hit "Please Release Me." While the lyrics of this song are not readily available, one discussant on a record collector's website described their reply as "shocking." On the flip side was "You're Getting Restless." Information on the individual members merits further research. Binding holes at left edge. Fine condition.
