Actor/screenwriter BILL TRAVERS (1922-1994), born William Lindon-Travers, began his acting career on the stage in 1947 before making his first film, The Wooden Horse, in 1950. Travers, who appeared in Cukor's Romeo and Juliet (1954) and Bhowani Junction (1956), also starred in The Story of Robin Hood (1952), Wee Gordie (1955), The Barretts of Wimpole Street (1957) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (1968) as well as Born Free (1966 - with his wife, actress Virginia McKenna). He also wrote and acted in Ring of Bright Water (1969) and An Elephant Called Slowly (1970). Fine condition.
