Bill Waddington (1916-2000) had a show business career lasting over fifty
years. It began playing the ukulele with the group The Blue Pencils, who
entertained forces during the Second World War; after which "Waddy" became a
comedian, appearing in the Royal Variety Performance in 1955 and going on to
perform in more than 800 variety and comedy programs. He appeared on television
in shows such as A Family at War (1970), How's Your
Father? (1975) and ITV Playhouse (1979); but his best
known role is that of "Percy Sugden" in Coronation Street
(1978-1997). Corners creased. Ink shows through on verso. Ink notes on verso
in unknown hand. Otherwise, fine condition.
