Autograph note signed: "To Bill Wood/good luck./Bill Walton",
7x3¾ piece of paper. Walton was MVP of the NCAA tournament in 1972 and 1973,
leading coach John Wooden's UCLA Bruins to back to back NCAA championships in
those years. He set collegiate records for shooting percentage while being
named three years running (1972-1974) as the "Sporting News" NCAA player of the
year. Walton's success continued in the pros. He was playoff MVP of the 1977
NBA championship series, won by his Portland Trailblazers. In 1986, he was
on another championship team, the Boston Celtics. The NBA's Most Valuable
Player in 1978, he entered the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993. A legendary
free spirit and humanitarian, Walton has also been an Emmy-winning sportscaster
and appeared in several films. Irregular edges. Glue remnant on verso (light
