performances. Watch for a movie coming out this fall 'Ernest Saves X-mas'. We filmed it at Disney
World in Florida. Nice to hear from someone so far away. Keep watching”. Actress Billie Bird
(1908-2002) began her show business career as a vaudeville and burlesque comedienne
before making her first film, Grass Widowers, in 1921. Primarily a stage performer thereafter,
Bird, who was also billed under her married name of Sellen, returned to both the big screen
and television in the 1950s, beginning with the feature film Dallas (1950). Her notable film
and television credits include Somebody Loves Me (1952), The Odd Couple (1968), Max
Dugan Returns (1983), Sixteen Candles (1984), Dear John (1988-1992), and Home Alone
(1990). The multi-talented Bird (skilled on several musical instruments) also participated
in 12 USO tours at combat zones throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Light ink smudging
