Golf Cap signed: "Billy Casper", "John/Daly", "Joe Sindelar". Adjustable-size golf cap from the Health Science Center Foundation Skins Game at Green Lakes State Park, in upstate New York. There is a fourth, unidentified, signature. BILLY CASPER (1931-2015), who joined the PGA Tour in 1955, had 51 tournament wins, including the U.S. Open (1959, 1966) and the Masters (1970), and was named PGA Player of the Year in 1966 and 1970. After joining the Senior Tour in 1982, Casper won nine tournaments, including the U.S. Senior Open (1983) and the Senior Players Championship (1988). Known for his excellent putting skills, Casper also won the Canadian Open (1967) and was on the U.S. Ryder Cup team eight times (he was non-playing team captain in 1979). Inducted in the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1978 and the PGA Hall of Fame in 1982, Casper later became involved with the design and management of golf courses across the U.S. The surprise winner of 1991 PGA Championship as an unknown 25-year-old, golfer JOHN DALY gained famed for his long drives from the tee. He battled through personal troubles to return in 1995 to win a second major at the British Open, beating Italy's Costantino Rocca in a four-hole playoff. Other victories for "The Lion" include the European Tour's BMW International Open (2001), the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational and the Korean Open (both 2003) and the Buick Invitational (2004), and Daly also played for the U.S. for 1998 Dunhill Cup. In addition to his career in golf, Daly is also a singer/songwriter and is known for his charitable work, most notably with the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs. JOEY SINDELAR, a member of Ohio State's NCAA championship golf team in 1979, was the University's Athlete of the Year in 1981. He won 7 PGA tour events, beginning with the Greensboro Open in 1985 and concluding with the Wachovia Championship in 2004. The consistent Sindelar finished among the top ten over 80 times. He joined the Champions Tour in 2008, finishing in the top ten 5 times. JEFF SLUMAN has had an unusual pro golf career. He one his first tournament - a Major, the US Open - at age 30. Then despite many top-10 finishes he didn't win another tournament. until over 40. He won five after that age, when most golfers are suffering declines in their game. He joined the Champions Tour in September 2007, winning three events in his first two years on the seniors circuit. John Daly made national headlines on the day of this tournament (June 22, 1999), not for his play at Green Lakes, where he was the big winner in the charity event, but for his contrite remarks about his blow-up at the US Open two days before. Frustrated by a bad putt, Daly - his round collapsing - whacked the ball off the green and finished with an 11 on the hole. As he left the course, he vowed never to play in the US Open again. At Green Lakes Daly observed, "I just made some stupid comments. I just hope the USGA will forgive me." Very lightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
