BILLY RAY CYRUS
Youthful image of the singer from his "Achy, Breaky Heart" days, standing in tall grass.
Inscribed Photograph signed: "To/Joyce,/Love/Billy Ray Cyrus". B/w, 8x10 overall, image 6¾x7¾ (one surface). Captioned in lower margin. Singer/songwriter Billy Ray Cyrus (born in 1961) rocketed to the top of the country charts with his hit single, "Achy, Breaky Heart", from his album, Some Gave All. Discovered by talent scouts when he opened for Reba McEntire in 1990, Cyrus would never be able to replicate his first success (the song was No. 1 on the country charts for five weeks, while the album, which sold over nine million copies, topped the country charts for 17 weeks). Cyrus, who had originally wanted to be a baseball player, then turned to acting, appearing in several feature films, including Mulholland Dr. (2001) and Elvis Has Left the Building (2004). He is also known for his starring role on the TV series, Doc (2001-2004), for which he wrote the theme song, and Cyrus has also guest starred on several TV shows. His daughter, Miley Cyrus (b.1992) has earned international fame as Disney's Hannah Montana. Her 2013 single "We Can't Stop" (from Bangerz, 2013), caused much controversy for its overt sexual and drug references, and she has since been under scrutinizing eye of the public. Fine condition.
