yours/Billy Vidabeck". B/w, 8x10. Signed on verso. Billy Vidabeck was
the professional name of William Veydovec (b. 1905), a heavyweight
pro boxer from 1922 through 1928, during which he compiled a record of
29-13-5, knocking out 11 opponents while being KO'd four times. He had a
small role in the movie Knockout Riley (1927), shown as a training
camp fighter. One of Vidabeck's final bouts was against "Cinderella Man" Jim
Braddock; they fought to a 10-round draw. Pencil note (unknown hand) on
verso. Ink transfer on bottom. Photo print made up of micro dots. Fine
condition.
