The Road to Bali, released in 1953, was the sixth pairing of the trio in their "Road" pictures, and starred Crosby as George Cochran, Hope as Harold Gridley and Lamour as Princess Lalah. They first teamed up in The Road to Singapore, released in 1940; their last "road" picture, The Road to Hong Kong, was released in 1962. In between, Hope, Crosby and Lamour took the Road to Zanzibar (1941), The Road to Morocco (1942), the Road to Utopia (1946) and the Road to Rio (1947, and Hope and Crosby also appeared in the 1960 comedy, The Road to Lebanon, which spoofed their "road" films. In the year he appeared in The Road to Bali, Crosby was also seen on the big screen in Scared Stiff and Little Boy Lost. The following year, he would appear in two popular films, The Country Girl (for which he was nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award) and White Christmas. Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby (1904-1977) won the 1944 Academy Award for Best Actor for Going My Way. He was also nominated for Best Actor Oscars for The Bells of St. Mary's (1945) and The Country Girl (1954). Known for his relaxed "crooning" style of singing, Crosby recorded more than 1,600 songs that sold at least 500 million copies. His 1942 single of "White Christmas" sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and was the best-selling single in any music category for more than 50 years. Lightly creased. Worn at edges.
