Inscribed photograph signed: "To Charles/ Best regards/ Binnie Barnes" in black ink. B/w, 8x10. English actress Binnie Barnes (1905-1998) appeared in a short sound film made by Lee DeForest in 1923. In British stage and film productions from the early 1930s, she played unfaithful fifth spouse Katherine Howard in The Private Life of Henry VIII (1933). Barnes made her American debut in There's Always Tomorrow (1934). She returned to American films later in her career when her husband, Columbia production chief Mike Frankovich, cast her in the 1968 films The Trouble With Angels and Where Angels Go -- Trouble Follows and in 1972's Forty Carats. Ink notes on verso in unknown hand. Fine condition.
