the actress looking stunning in a black dress.
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Dear/Terry/a
devoted/fan/Binnie", and on verso: "Binnie". B/w, 4½x7¼
overall, image 4½x6 (one surface). Also on verso is a letter fragment written by
Barnes. Remainder in full: ...thanks for your ... you remembered a ... lot of
Pictures that I did not Remember. ...will keep your Letter for Reference and Keep
me in our memories." Barnes (1905-1998) made her American debut in
There's Always Tomorrow (1934). She had appeared in a number of
British films, including The Private Life of Henry VIII (1933) and
on the British stage. She returned to American films later in her career
when her husband, Columbia production chief Mike Frankovich, cast her in the
1968 films The Trouble With Angels and Where Angels Go -- Trouble
Follows and in 1972's Forty Carats. Irregularly cut. Slightly soiled.
Left edge chipped in two places. Otherwise, fine condition.
