Picture post card signed: "Binnie Hale", in green ink, Sepia 3½x5½. English singer and actress Binnie Hale (1899-1984), born Beatrice Mary Hale-Monro starred in the West End production of No, No, Nanette (1925). Her recording of the song "Spread a Little Happiness" from the 1928 musical Mr. Cinders was her biggest hit, covered by Sting in a hit single 54 years later. She had starring roles and second leads in several British films of the 1930s. Her father (Robert Hale), brother (Sonnie Hale) and husband (Jack Raine) were all prominent actors. Soiled on corners and across bottom margin, with clear residue on image (only seen in light). Corners lightly worn. Paper remnants on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
