Magnificent Seven (1960), The Great Escape (1963), Our Man Flint (1966) and Cross of Iron

earned critical acclaim in such films as Mississippi Burning (1989) and The Royal Tenenbaums

a high school basketball coach, is considered one of the best sports films of all time. In total,
Hackman has won two Oscars (five nominations), four Golden Globes (nine nominations), and
two BAFTAs (five nominations). Since his last screen role in 2004, Hackman has firmly
retired from the industry, instead choosing to write and publish novels. Lightly scuffed
