BLYTHE DANNER
The actress inscribes and signs this color still from the 1972 film
1776
Photograph inscribed and signed: "For Robert Rubin -/with
heartfelt thanks/and all best wishes,/appreciatively/Blythe Danner" in blue
ink, Color 10x8. A "critic's darling" thanks to her husky voice and pleasantly
mannered acting style, Blythe Danner (b. 1943) has worked with
distinction in TV and on stage, though her film roles have tended to be few and
far between. She was memorable as Robert Duvall's long-suffering wife in
The Great Santini (1980) and as Nick Nolte's wife in The Prince of
Tides (1991), while in 1986's Brighton Beach Memoirs, the
decidedly WASPish Danner surprised fans by portraying a middle-aged Jewish
woman. In 1992, she did stellar work in the made-for-TV movie Cruel
Doubt. More recently she appeared in the hit Meet the Parents
(2000) and it's sequels. She is the mother of actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Unknown
residue at face (lightly affecting signature). Ink note (unknown hand) on verso
(no show-through). Adhesive sticker on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
