Signature: “Bob Becker” in pencil, 3x4½. 1¾x3, b/w, newspaper photo affixed below signature.
Bob Becker (1890-1962) was a newspaperman who wrote for the Chicago Tribune for 35
years before retiring. After graduating from Beloit College in 1912 he worked for the Field
Museum in Chicago. In 1921, he began working for the Chicago Tribune. A passionate
outdoorsman, he began hunting and fishing at an early age, and these personal interests
and hobbies served him well as the Tribune's outdoors editor. Becker also went on to
write extensively about dogs for the paper. Staining along left hand side of album leaf. Sparse
staining on verso. Lightly toned, especially at edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
