BOB BROWN
The news anchor sends this typed letter thanking Phyllis Diller for
her kind hospitality
Typed Letter signed: "Bob Brown", 1p, 8½x11. New York,
N.Y., 1993 January 25. On letterhead of ABC/News 20/20 to actress/comedienne
Phyllis Diller, Brentwood, California. In full: "I want to thank you
for your consideration and hospitality when we visited you last week. The lunch
was marvelous. Best of all was the opportunity to meet and talk with you on and
off camera. I am especially grateful for your kindness in supplying me with a
copy of The Magic of Believing. I know now why you feel it was so
instrumental in your life; and if my benefits from reading it consist of a
fraction of the intelligence and drive you have displayed, I'll be a fortunate
man! Warmest regards". Bob Brown anchored local newscasts at ABC affiliate
TV stations in Houston and Dallas for four years before joining the network's
World News Tonight as a New York-based correspondent in 1977. In 1980
he joined ABC's 20/20 news program, and has since one six Emmy awards for
his investigative reporting. Light corner creases. Otherwise, fine
condition.
