BOB CARROLL
Signed Autograph Note to radio/TV host George Sanders, on a page which also bears a newspaper article and photo about his performance Tevye
Autograph Note signed: "Bob Carroll" , 6¾x9¼ with 3½x4½ newspaper clipping affixed to lower right corner. No place cited, but probably Portland, Oregon, 1970 August 7. To radio/TV interview host George Sanders. In full: "From a Russian Jewish dairyman to a swinging Greek - 'L'Chaim' - 'Fiddler on the Roof'". Bob Carroll 1918-1994 was a professional singer, performing with the bands of Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller and as a baritone soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the New York Pops. Turning to acting, he appeared in some TV episodes and a few feature films (The Prowler, 1951; Running Hot, 1983). But he earned greater recognition in touring stage roles, especially that of Tevye in regional performances of Fiddler on the Roof. The affixed newspaper clipping cites his pending performance in that musical at Portland's Civic Auditorium. Left edge ragged from previous binding. Very lightly creased. Fine condition.
