Leagues (1951-1962), playing mostly for the New York Yankees and Kansas City A's. He had
his best seasons with the A's (1957-1960), setting the franchise record for home runs in a
season (38) and making the All-Star team, beating out Ted Williams for the starting
position in left field! Returning to the Yankees, Cerv was the housemate of Mickey Mantle
and Roger Maris during their quest to top Babe Ruth's season homer total, as portrayed
in Billy Crystal's movie 61*. Fine condition.
