Professional Model. A three-time All-American at Holy Cross,
Cousy, born in New York City in 1928, became one of the biggest names
in college hoops. He gave up baseball at age 14 to concentrate on basketball
and, as a senior in 1949-1950, he led the way as Holy Cross won 26 straight
games and finished second in the National Invitation Tournament. A guard who
joined the Boston Celtics in 1950, Cousy led the NBA in assists for
eight consecutive years (1953-1960). He played in 13 straight NBA
All-Star Games, earned MVP honors in the 1954 and 1957 games and
racked up 16,960 career points. Cousy played on six NBA championship
teams with the Celtics (1957, 1959-1963). After his playing days and
election to the Hall of Fame, Cousy became a popular TV and radio
announcer. Fine condition.
