"To my/friend/Jerry/Tony Garnier". Singer/songwriter BOB DYLAN, born Robert Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota (1941), burst out of Greenwich Village coffee houses to national stardom in the 1960s, writing and performing songs which became anthems of the counterculture movement: "Blowin' in the Wind," "The Times Are A'Changin" and many others. Defying simple classification as a folk singer or "protest singer," Dylan shocked fans at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965 by going electric. He has re-invented himself with new musical styles every few years, but his highly original, poetic lyrics are always present. Dylan has won 11 Grammy awards, a Golden Globe, an Oscar (for Best Original Song in Wonder Boys, 2008), and even a Pulitzer Prize (awarded in 2008 for the cultural significance of his lyrics). Five of his songs are in the Grammy Hall of Fame, and he himself is enshrined in the Rock and Roll and Songwriters Halls. Since 1989, Dylan has been on what some critics call his "Never Ending Tour." (Dylan dislikes the term.) He gave his 2000th live performance in 2007, and continues to perform 100 concerts a year at age 70. Obviously, that schedule requires a skilled team of musicians, advance persons and stage technicians. This T-shirt was signed by members of that crew circa 1999. TOMMY MORRONGIELLO, originally a member of Dylan's stage crew, moved up to playing backup guitar. He has played with several other bands, including The Criminals and The Helen Wheels Band. Drummer DAVID KEMPER played on tour with Jerry Garcia before joining Dylan as a backup musician (1996-2001). Bass guitarist TONY GARNIER joined Bob Dylan in 1989, and has played more performances with Dylan than any other musician! DON FITZSIMMONDS is a drum technician, touring with Dylan before joining the David Byrne tour of 2008-2009. LARRY CAMPBELL played backup guitar with Dylan from 1997 to 2004. As a studio musician, he has performed on recordings by many artists, including the Backstreet Boys, Rosanne Cash and Judy Collins. Signatures lightly smudges but legible. Fine condition. Authenticated by Roger Epperson.
