Shadow's Child", a story illustration. Signed center left. Robert Aaron "Bob" Brown
(1895-1954) played pro basketball with the Toledo Mudhens before becoming a sculptor
and painter. His most active period was the 1930s, when made of his paintings reflected
social and economic themes. He resided most of his life in St Paul, Minnesota. From the
estate of Charles Martignette (1950-2008), a noted authority on American illustrative art
whose collection merited a special exhibit at the Smithsonian. Fine condition. Framed by
unknown individual.
