Autograph letter signed: "Bobby Barry/ "Little Johnny Jones"" in black ink. 1 page, 6x9¼ affixed to 8x9½ paper. Written on Hotel Davidson letterhead. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. November 13, 1906. In full: "My Dear Miss Allison: In reply to your letter to me regarding my autograph will say that I am very happy to oblige you with some, and hope you will pay "Johnny Jones" a visit before he leaves your city. I remain Yours very truly". Bobby Barry (1886-1964) was a popular theatre actor. Beginning his career as a teenager in his father's vaudeville act, Barry appeared on Broadway multiple times in productions of Foxy Grandpa (1902), Mama's Baby Boy (1912), What Ails You? (1912), Heltzapoppin (1938), He Who Gets Slapped (1946) and Burlesque (1946). He went on many road tours with productions of Little Johnny Jones, The Governor's Son, and Knight for a Day, even travelling to Australia in 1911 for a production of The Girl in the Taxi. Toned. Worn and soiled. Creased throughout. Small tears along edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
