Autograph letter signed: "Bobby Capo" in blue ink, 7¼x10¼. In full: " Dear Mr. Willis: it is my pleasure to help you out with your work for the volume of the new year book and further more I would love to have a copie or two sended to me. (I'll pay for it if necessary) Anything else I can do for let me know, always yours" Bobby Capo Jr. (1950-1994) was an actor, author and musician. He appeared in the Broadway production of West Side Story (1968) and off-Broadway in Celebrate Yourself and Bye Bye Birdie. Capo is well known for following in the footsteps of his father, musician and composer Bobby Capo. Although he intended to break away from his father's shadow, Capo gained a following within the Puerto Rican music community much like his father had, although not quite reaching the same level of stardom. John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tony for Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Lightly toned at edges. Lightly creased. Edges lightly worn.
