(b. 1936) was active on the PGA tour from 1960-1985 then moved on the
Champions Tour (Seniors). The biggest of Nichols' 11 PGA Tour victories came at
the 1964 PGA Championship, where he topped Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer by
three strokes. His 271 total was a PGA Championship record until Nick Price
broke it in 1994. Nichols was a member of the 1967 U.S. Ryder Cup team
and was one of the three players struck by lightning at the 1975 Western
Open. The Bobby Nichols Golf Course is a 9-hole course in his home town of
Louisville, Kentucky. Fine condition.
