Typed letter signed: "Bobby Short", in black felt tip, 1 page, 5½x9. Carnegie Hall. November 29, 1967. In full: "Dear Jim: I'm so sorry this could not have been accomplished with the dispatch Twentieth Cenutry Fox might arrange for its stars but today is the first chance I've had photo, envelope and energy altogether at one time. Flattered by your note. Would love to meet an old friend of Tom's. Where is he these days?" Cabaret singer and pianist Bobby Short (1924-2005) performed for over 35 years at the Café Carlyle in New York City. The internationally famous Short specialized in popular songs by the great composers American composers of the first half of the twentieth century. He released over 20 record albums, and appeared in films and television. The Library of Congress named him one of its Living Legends in 2000. Fine condition.
