BOBBY "THE POLISH PRINCE" VINTON
Vintage b/w bust photograph of singer Bobby Vinton with his collar up
and arms crossed, signed "with Love". Vinton had four chart-topping
singles between 1962 and 1964.
Photograph signed "with Love-/BobbyVinton". B/w, 7¾x9¾
overall, 7x8¾ image, one surface. Captioned: "Bobby Vinton". Although his
sentimental ballads were more similar in style to singers of earlier decades,
Vinton, born Stanley Robert Vinton in 1935, was a big hit with young
listeners in the 1960s. He scored five big hits between 1962 and 1964: Roses
Are Red, Blue on Blue, Blue Velvet, There, I've Said It
Again and Mr. Lonely. Unlike many of his rivals, he more than
survived the British invasion, with further big hits like I Love How You Love
Me (1968). Vinton hosted his own TV musical variety show (1975-1978) and
remains ever popular on the nightclub circuit and "oldies" radio. Lightly
creased and bowed. Signature has poor adhesion but is legible. Otherwise in fine
condition.
